Many people ask us about our “program”. We don’t have a set “program”; instead we
focus on helping you achieve wellness through a therapeutic process. For those of you looking to decrease weight,
we don’t do “diet programs” because we know they are ineffective and promote
failure. When you work with us, you are
working to achieve wellness through life-long, healthy changes, not simply
weight loss. We aim to stop the cycle of
deprivation and failure. We work with
you as an individual, finding strategies that fit your needs and lifestyle.
- The initial consult consists of assessment, meal planning and goal
setting. We work together to identify
problem behaviors, set realistic goals, and create an eating pattern full of
foods you like to stabilize blood sugar and energize the metabolism. The first visit also includes:
· A comprehensive review of your
medical history including diagnosis, symptoms, current medications,
vitamins, supplements, and allergies
· A complete lifestyle assessment of your food likes and dislikes,
physical activity level, work, family and home life, routines, food
behaviors, and individual stressors/triggers
- About 2 weeks later we review goals, meal journals, questions and
concerns you have. Follow-up visits are
focused on support and encouragement, progress evaluation, and continuous goal
setting
